FAQ
THE QC SYSTEM
What is the Quick Connect system?
The Quick Connect system is a range of professional hair styling tools that all share one detachable cord. One cord powers your blow dryer, flat iron, and curling iron. Pull to release, push to lock, and you can switch between tools in seconds.
Does the QC ONE Cord swivel?
Yes. The QC ONE Cord swivels with every QC tool, allowing greater freedom of movement while helping reduce twisting and cord tangles.
Does the cord swivel with the Blow Dryer?
Yes. This is especially valuable when blow-drying because the dryer can move naturally around the head without constantly twisting the power cord.
How quickly can I switch between QC tools?
The Quick Connect system releases and reconnects in seconds. The Hair Straightener and Curling Iron use Instant Heat Technology, so you can keep styling without a long warm-up delay.
What is rapid heat recovery?
Rapid heat recovery helps the Hair Straightener and Curling Iron return to styling temperature quickly between sections (within 10 seconds), supporting consistent results from the beginning of the style to the finish.
Does QC help reduce cord clutter?
Yes. One QC ONE Cord powers the QC system, reducing the number of permanently attached cords you need to use and store.
Is QC designed for professional stylists?
Yes. QC is designed for professional performance, including powerful airflow, fast heat-up, rapid heat recovery, consistent styling temperature and a cord system designed around how stylists work.
How does the cord work?
Align the cord connector with the tool, push until you feel a click, and it is locked in. To release, pull back the collar and the cord detaches. The whole process takes a few seconds, one hand.
Can I use the tools without the QC cord?
No. The tools are designed to work exclusively with the Quick Connect detachable cord. Each tool ships with a cord included and is ready to use straight out of the box.
Can I buy additional cords?
Yes. The QC Detachable Cord is available separately for $49.98 or at a discounted price if you buy it together with a hair styling set. Having a spare means two tools can be ready to use at the same time.
What happens when the cord wears out?
You replace the cord, not the tool. Order a replacement QC Detachable Cord and keep your tools working. Other brands make you throw away the tool and buy a new one.
The QC system is designed differently: the part that wears out is the part you replace.
Can I add more tools to my system later?
Yes. Start with one tool or a kit and add more whenever you are ready. The same cord connects everything.
THE QC TOOLS
What temperature do the Flat Iron and Curling Iron reach?
Both reach up to 410°F (195°C). They use self-regulating PTC ceramic heating which maintains a consistent temperature from the first section to the last, with no heat spikes or drops.
How quickly do the Curling Iron and Flat Iron tools heat up?
They reach a usable temperature in 15 seconds and maximum temperature in 30 seconds, and recover heat within 10 seconds between sections.
Are the tools dual voltage?
The Flat Iron and Curling Iron are dual voltage (100–240V) and work worldwide with an adapter plug. The Blow Dryer is rated 100–125V / 60Hz and is designed for North American use only.
What technology does the Blow Dryer use?
The Blow Dryer uses far infrared technology which works from inside the hair shaft rather than just the surface, for a faster and gentler dry. It also features a negative ion generator which reduces frizz and boosts shine, and a 1875W AC motor for powerful consistent airflow.
Does the Flat Iron work for curling as well?
Yes. The ceramic plates work in both directions so you can straighten, flip under, or curl back depending on the look you want.
Do the tools have auto shut-off?
Yes. The Flat Iron and Curling Iron both have a 60-minute auto shut-off. The Blow Dryer also has a 60-minute auto shut-off.
What certifications do the tools carry?
All QC tools are cETLus, CE, and UKCA certified, meaning they meet professional electrical safety standards across North America, Europe, and the UK.
Are QC tools suitable for all hair types?
Yes. The adjustable heat settings cover fine, thick, colour-treated, curly, and wavy hair. The self-regulating ceramic heating protects all hair types from unnecessary heat damage.
GET STARTED
What comes in the box
Each individual tool comes with one QC Detachable Cord. The sets also come with one shared Detachable Cord. Each Curling Iron and Flat Iron come with a multi-use heat cloth, and a premium magnetic gift box. The Hair Dryer also has a concentrator nozzle, and a premium magnetic gift box per tool.
How do I connect the cord to my tool?
Align the cord connector with the port on the tool, then push firmly until you feel and hear a click. The cord is now locked in and ready to use. To release, pull back the collar on the connector and the cord will detach cleanly.
How do I know the cord is properly connected?
You will feel a firm click when the cord locks in. If the connection feels loose or the tool does not power on, disconnect and reconnect making sure the connector is fully aligned before pushing.
How do I switch the cord between tools?
Pull back the collar to release the cord from the first tool, then align and push into the next tool until you hear the click. The whole process takes a few seconds.
How do I turn the tools on and adjust the temperature?
Each tool has a single button that controls power and temperature. Press to turn on and press again to cycle through the heat settings. The LED display shows your current temperature so you always know exactly where you are.
How long should I let the tools heat up before using them?
The Flat Iron and Curling Iron reach a usable temperature in about 15 seconds and full temperature (up to 410°F) in about 30 seconds, then recover heat within 10 seconds between sections. Wait until the LED display shows your selected temperature before styling.
Can I use the Blow Dryer with the concentrator nozzle?
Yes. The concentrator nozzle clips onto the front of the Blow Dryer and directs airflow section by section for a smoother more controlled finish. We recommend using it for blowouts and precision styling.
Can I use the Blow Dryer without the concentrator nozzle?
Yes. Remove the nozzle for a wider, more diffused airflow. This works well for a quick all-over dry or for adding volume to the roots without directing heat to a specific section.
MAINTENANCE
How do I clean the Flat Iron plates?
Allow the plates to cool completely after use. Wipe them gently with the included multi-use heat cloth to remove any hair product residue. Never use abrasive cleaners or submerge the tool in water.
How do I clean the Curling Iron barrel?
The Curling Iron has a self-cleaning barrel. Once the tool has cooled, shake it gently to loosen any product deposits. For stubborn residue, wipe with the multi-use cloth provided when fully cooled.
How do I care for the cord?
Avoid wrapping the cord tightly around the tool for storage as this can stress the connection point over time. Store the cord loosely or use the included heat cloth to wrap your tools. If the cord shows signs of wear or damage stop using it and order a replacement.
How do I switch the cord between tools?
Pull back the collar to release the cord from the first tool, then align and push into the next tool until you hear the click. The whole process takes a few seconds.
How do I store my QC tools?
Allow all tools to cool completely before storing. The magnetic gift boxes can be used for storage and keep your tools protected between uses. Never store tools with the cord under tension or tightly wound.
How often should I replace the cord?
There is no fixed replacement schedule. With normal use and proper care the cord is built to last for thousands of connection cycles. Replace it when you notice any visible wear, fraying, or if the connection becomes inconsistent.
Can I use heat protection products with QC tools?
Yes and we recommend it. Apply heat protection spray or serum to your hair before styling as usual. Clean any product residue from the plates and barrel after each use to maintain performance.
